WHAT SUPPORT LOOKS LIKE
Every home has it’s own culture
A typical day might mean going to work and coming home to cook dinner with housemates – or more consistent supervision, cueing, and medication support, with time for cards, movies, or getting into the community. What stays the same: real choice and real independence, wherever it’s possible
When this may be appropriate
Needs more consistent supervision or medication support than living alone allows.
Benefits from 24/7 staff availability, without needing overnight wake staff or 1:1/2:1 staffing.
Does not require CPR-certified staff or complex medical support.

The ILO Approach
We start with the information the team provides and build our own assessment on top of it — then keep adjusting: how much alone time makes sense, what someone wants help with, what's reasonable and safe. A daily balance between what someone wants to achieve and what actually works.

FAQ
-
Staff sleep overnight — ILO does not provide awake-overnight staffing. That's one of a few hard lines in our residential model: we also don't provide 1:1 or 2:1 staffing, can't support anyone who needs CPR-certified staff or complex medical care, and can't take on behavioral needs serious enough that a single staff member couldn't safely manage them.
-
No — our residential model is built entirely around single staffing. If someone needs 1:1 or 2:1 support, awake overnight staff, CPR-certified staff, or has complex medical needs, Community Residential Services likely isn't the right fit, though another ILO service — or a referral elsewhere — might be.
-
Some are, some aren't — accessibility varies home by home, so we'll walk through which ones fit specific mobility needs. Matching someone with staff who can accommodate things like a wheelchair-accessible vehicle can occasionally add a short delay before services start, just so we get that pairing right.
-
Every home has its own household and its own culture, so we'll talk through compatibility as part of finding the right fit — including gender-related preferences (we staff women for personal care shifts when that's a concern). Before anyone moves in, we also arrange a tour so the individual or their representative can see the home and confirm it feels right.
