24-HOUR EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
24/7 staff ready to help with crisis prevention, problem-solving, and coping skills.
Real staff are available day and night for crisis prevention, problem-solving, and coping support — not a crisis hotline, and not just reminder calls.
IMPORTANT: This is an ILO service for enrolled individuals, not a public emergency line. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

WHAT SUPPORT LOOKS LIKE
Preventing a crisis, not just responding to one.
EAS staff are available 24/7 to help with crisis prevention, problem-solving, and coping skills — including symptom management and de-escalation in the moment. Staff also handle medication and appointment reminders, 24-to-72-hour protocols, and monthly reports to keep the person's team informed. An enrolled person can call anytime, day or night, if they’re having a hard time.
How This Differs From:
Calling 911: EAS is preventative and should not be used in emergencies. If there is immediate danger or a medical emergency call 911.
A Public Crisis Line: 24 EAS is only available to enrolled individuals.
Crisis Stabilization: That service addresses behaviors already threatening housing/safety; 24 EAS is preventative.
Routine Staff Contact: Current clients with an assigned staff member should reach out to them directly.

FAQ
-
No. If someone is in immediate danger, always call 911 first — this service is built for problem-solving and prevention, not medical or safety emergencies. Think of it as support for things like feeling overwhelmed, needing help thinking through a piece of paperwork, or catching a hard moment before it becomes a crisis — not a replacement for emergency response.
-
This service can support a range of ages, including kids in some cases. ILO's more intensive, ongoing youth support generally runs through Intervention Services instead, but 24-Hour Emergency Assistance isn't strictly adults-only the way some of our other services are.
